What you achieve

To bring our service quality to a new level you will wrangle a wide range of structured and unstructured data from the technical domain of Swisscom (e.g. network and IT performance data, trouble tickets, process information, ...) and work on the tools we need to analyze this data. Your work will help us in making fast and accurate data-driven decisions, to solve challenging problems and predict issues on our equipment. As part of a cross-functional agile team, you will have full responsibility for your products.

Your tasks will vary from data science (10%) through big data engineering / data wrangling (60%) to DevOps (30%). You work in an international team with huge cultural diversity and a strong focus on making our infrastructure and services the best in the world. You interact with data scientists, big data engineers, DevOps as well as product owners and business developers.

Why you succeed

  • BSc or MSc in computer science or related field
  • Experienced with Hadoop, Kafka, Spark, streaming approaches in big data
  • Senior skills in Python and Scala or Java (FP and OOP) are a must
  • Knowledge of one relational database and relational data modeling
  • Knowledge of druid.io or other NoSql database systems is a huge plus, cloud and container technologies like Kubernetes, Docker, AWS, cloud foundry are welcome
  • Hands-on experience of CI/CD, specifically Jenkins and Ansible
  • Experience in designing/architecture of backends, solid understanding of data structures and algorithms is a plus
