What you achieve

We extract a wide range of structured and unstructured data from Swisscom's technical domain (e.g. network and IT performance data, trouble tickets, process information, etc.) to be able to provide an even higher level of service. Your contributions to the architecture, design and implementation of the tools and data (models), help us to make fast, accurate, data-driven decisions, and to predict issues with our services or equipment. As part of a cross-functional, agile team, you have full responsibility for your products.

The tasks you focus on vary from assisting our developers with architecting to implementing data pipelines and data architectures. You contribute to our goal of being the leading telco and IT company in Switzerland by evaluating the next technologies and tools. Furthermore, you work in an international, culturally diverse team. Data scientists, big data engineers, and DevOps as well as product owners and business developers are your sparring partners.

Why you succeed

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or a related field
  • Extensive experience with Hadoop, Kafka, Spark and streaming approaches in big data
  • Experience in data modeling and programming skills in Python and Scala or Java are a must
  • In-depth knowledge of at least one relational database and one NoSQL system
  • Experience in designing/architecture of back-ends
  • Solid understanding of data science and machine learning
  • Knowledge of cloud and container technologies like Kubernetes, Docker, AWS and cloud foundry
  • Hands-on experience of CI/CD, specifically Jenkins and Ansible, would be welcome
  • Very good English, German or French are very desirable
