What you achieve

To provide the best service to our mobile customers and stay the best mobile network in the world, we wrangle a wide range of structured and unstructured data from base stations, smartphones and passive probe systems. You help us make accurate data-driven decisions to optimize the investments in our mobile infrastructure and plan the rollout of new technologies. As part of a cross-functional agile team, you have full responsibility for your products.

Your tasks vary from supporting our data scientists with your mobile network expertise to designing and implementing solutions to plan and optimize the mobile network. In addition, you perform various data analyses to provide insights to our network engineers, operation teams, and customer care. Working in an international team cultivating cultural diversity, you interact with big data engineers, DevOps, as well as product owners and business developers.

Why you succeed

  • Master's degree (ETH/Uni/UAS) in telecommunications, electrical engineering or related field
  • Detailed knowledge of LTE, wireless communications and cellular networks in general (with good knowledge in MIMO systems), RF propagation, antennas, TCP/IP, and networking in general
  • Know-how in radio network planning and network optimization for mobile networks
  • Programming skills in Python, Scala or Java are a plus
  • Experience with Hadoop, Kafka, Spark, or streaming approaches in big data is a plus
  • Understanding of statistics, data science, and machine learning is appreciated
  • Pragmatic person who likes to work hands-on
  • Very good English, German and French a plus
