What you will do

As part of our flexible, fast acting team you are a hundred percent involved in the development process of databases. With your experience you design, develop and run the platform as part of our DevOps team. As a DevOps engineer with experience in the automation of database platforms, you work on the core components of our database service. You like working in an agile DevOps team and you are not only familiar with the Oracle database but also with other components of the underlying platform stack (operating system, virtualization, networking). You know the benefits of Infrastructure as Code (IAC) as well as Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) – therefore, you can make your own contribution. You have knowledge of at least one programming language such as PL/SQL or Java and are keen to deliver a high-quality self-service DBaaS product to our customers. As a member of our DevOps team you help operate the platform as well as troubleshoot and resolve issues.

Your background

  • Degree in computer science
  • Experienced database/Linux engineer (ideally Oracle 12c and Exadata, RedHat Linux)
  • Hands-on programming and software development skills (PL/SQL, Java)
  • Familiar with agile methodologies
  • Experience in configuration management, automation and scripting (Puppet, Ansible, Bash, Python)
  • Ideally, experienced with cloud platforms and Database-as-a-Service products
  • Pragmatic and solution oriented
  • Willingness to be on-call – you build it, you run it
  • Very good  English or German
