What you achieve

Your main goal is to make our customers' life easier: Together with your team, you strive to spot or ideally predict network failures. As an expert in gathering knowledge from network engineers, you source and process data, all the while applying anomaly detection models. This way you make our insights accessible to end users and similar. Your tasks range from data science (10%–20%) to big data engineering (60%), through to DevOps (20%–30%). The people you interact with are data scientists, big data engineers, DevOps as well as product owners and business engineers.

You work with a group of data engineers and data scientists who are passionate about the topics they work on and the methods and tools they use. We design and implement end-to-end solutions – all the while leveraging from domains such as machine learning, distributed systems, data mining, etc. You help us to create software with an agile approach, using state-of-the-art big data technologies, e.g. Kafka, Kafka Streams, Cassandra. We usually code in Java and we are strong supporters of Open Source.

Why you succeed

  • Master's degree or PhD (ETH/Uni/UAS) in Computer Science or a related field
  • Ability to write clean and effective codes in Java and solid understanding of data structures and algorithms are both must-haves
  • Experience with big data technologies, in particular Kafka, Kafka Streams and Cassandra
  • Ability to analyze and visualize data (e.g. with Python, Jupyter, etc.)
  • DevOps know-how in scripting (Unix, Python), Ansible, Prometheus and Grafana
  • Knowledge of continuous integration/continuous deployment with hands-on experience of tools such as Jenkins and Docker
  • Familiarity with Cloudfoundry and know-how in TypeScript, Angular, HTML, CSS, RESTful APIs would be a plus
  • Very good English, German or French are a plus

We intend to fill this position without involvement of external recruiting or placement companies.
