What you achieve

Whether it is controlling the subscriber count, live cycle events, or customer segmentation, you help us to get the most out of our DWH solutions based on Teradata and Hadoop. While you focus on EDW, you can also work with Hadoop. So, you generate the best possible solution for our contract partners.
You help us modernize the existing warehouse and combine the two existing data warehouse stacks (based on relational EDW [Teradata] and a Hadoop ecosystem). To do this, you build transversal, end-to-end solutions that use the best of both worlds. Although you focus on developing solutions with Teradata, you keep a close eye on Hadoop at all times. Cooperation with the Hadoop team and the design aspect are therefore important. The focus is always on analytical benefits: We want to understand our internal and external clients' needs better, which is why you work in close collaboration with them as well.

Why you succeed

  • Bachelor's degree or comparable training in computer science
  • Excellent knowledge of Java or JVM-based OOP language (alternatively OOP with Python)
  • Experience in the BI and data warehouse environment: design, architecture, data-modelling
  • Know-how of database, SQL scripting and ETL tools (PowerCenter is an advantage)
  • Skilled with Hadoop ecosystem (e.g. Hortonworks with Kafka, hive, storm, spark, HDFS, SOLR), as well as knowledge of functional programming languages like Scala or Clojure
  • Didactic flair and good communication skills – thus predestined for agile methods such as Scrum and DevOps culture
  • Very good English and German, French a plus
