What you achieve

As part of the Mobility Insights team at Swisscom, you transform data collected from the Swisscom mobile network into statistics about mobility in the country. The amount of data (millions of data points per second), combined with the large market share of Swisscom enables us to gain comprehensive (and anonymized) insights into collective mobility in Switzerland.

Your tasks include implementing data processing pipelines to collect, clean up and explore the data. Focusing on backend systems, you manage production services. You apply statistics and machine learning algorithms on structured and unstructured data, and you collaborate with business stakeholders to define requirements or identify new use cases.

Why you succeed

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree or PhD (ETH/Uni/UAS) in computer science, data science, or equivalent qualification
  • Experience in successfully building and maintaining data pipelines using big data technology (Hadoop, Spark, Elastic)
  • Strong software engineering skills, ideally familiar with development in Scala and Python
  • Familiarity with data mining tasks is a plus
  • Enthusiastic and flexible personality with a desire to learn, take the initiative, be self-reliant, and work independently
  • Very good English, German or French a plus
